Ways to Give
The American Action Fund for Blind Children and Adults specializes in helping the deafblind, blind children, and the elderly blind. We provide services that are not available from government agencies, and we rely heavily on the work of our dedicated volunteers and support from concerned members of the community like you. Read the AAF Year in Review (Accessible PDF) for more information about our work.

Gifts of Cash
Cash gifts are tax-deductible up to fifty percent of the donor's adjusted gross income. They are a common form of giving and easy to make. Gifts in excess of the fifty percent limit can be carried forward and deducted for up to five subsequent years. In most states, the income tax code allows for a charitable deduction for such cash gifts.
Planned Giving
Including the American Action Fund for Blind Children and Adults in your estate plans is a meaningful way to promote Braille literacy for generations to come. It is easier than you think. By including us in your planned giving, the Braille Books Program will continue to provide literature for families of blind children across the United States.
When asked about planned giving, a legacy donor told us:
The American Action Fund for Blind Children and Adults provides many amazing services. The time is coming for blind children when having access to a book is no big deal. I feel motivated to help the children of tomorrow.
Please contact Patti Chang at 410-659-9315 or [email protected], or visit our planned giving page to learn more.
If you are an estate lawyer, executor, or other personal representative trying to settle an estate, trust, or other security that names the American Action Fund for Blind Children and Adults as a beneficiary, please email us at [email protected].
Donations in Memory
When a loved one dies, many people prefer to make contributions to a nonprofit organization as a living memorial to the deceased. In this case, you may wish to print the name and address of the American Action Fund for Blind Children and Adults in the obituary and have it announced at the funeral services.
Donate Stock
Electronic transfer of stock shares is a secure and expedient way to donate to the American Action Fund for Blind Children and Adults. Please contact us by phone at 410-659-9315 or by email at [email protected]. We can work with you or your broker to make this a seamless donation.
Give a Qualified Charitable Distribution from an IRA and Pay No Taxes
Generally, if all or part of a required minimum distribution (RMD) is given directly to charity, no tax is due on the donated amount. Consider rolling over your RMD to the American Action Fund. Use our IRA Instruction Form to submit to your IRA administrator. Please reach out to Patti Chang at 410-659-9315 for more information.
Vehicle Donations
